Rich River’s Good Stock For a Good Cause

Goodstock creator and organiser ‘Boo Love’ talks about the event on local radio show ‘All the Hits’

This October six acts consisting of 13 local musicians from the Echuca/Moama and surrounding districts will be featured at the very first Goodstock concert in Moama.

This event has been designed to showcase up-and-coming artists from the Rich River and surrounding districts but also to raise funds and awareness for a local family.

Goodstock organiser and local musician Boo Love first began seeking out other local artists in an attempt to boost the local music scene, heightened by an appearance on the cover of local newspaper The Riverine Herald, an article on her mission and a small classified ad asking local acts to come forward. Her response was encouraging and she was soon contacted by a Moama market organiser to see if she’d like to produce a concert event at the market to help her cause. She naturally jumped at the chance and says things have really been steam-rolling since.

I approached a few people and everyone had their hands up”, Boo says. “Everything’s just been growing and growing really well….it’s been quite an easy task setting it up to be honest”.

Boo has also aligned the event with The Chugg Family Appeal, a charity aimed at raising funds for young Lockington mother Kirsty Chugg who suffers from a mysterious illness known as autoimmune limbic encephalitis. More on this family’s plight can be read in this Herald-Sun article.

Other organisations such as Freeza, Century 21 and Apex Club have also committed to supporting the event.

The six acts on the line-up for Goodstock are Jefferson Smith, The Smoking Gum, Dynamic Duo, Daisy & Eden & Cyrus, Mitch N Co and Ella Spizzica. It will be held on Sunday October 28th from 9:30am to 1pm at the Moama Market.
